Building Our Future, Respecting Our
Past

This Vine Street home was featured in the Painted Ladies
book.
Boasting a sheltered location in a scenic river valley, West Newton
is a lovely Trail Town to be discovered along the Passage. Bikers
passing through will discover trailside businesses, including a bed
and breakfast, bike shop, canoe outfitter, and several eateries, as
well as a new visitor center that is a replica of the former train
station.
West Newton Bridge is soon to be restored as part of the “Bridge to
Tomorrow” project, with a town square planned at the foot of the
bridge. This riverfront development project will connect the
trailhead
with the historic downtown.
Hidden treasures to discover in town are the Historic West Newton
Cemetery near the trail, West Newton Pizza Shop, and a Victorian
home on Vine Street once featured in the Painted Ladies book. You can explore the traditional downtown with a variety
of unique goods and services. This quaint old town is a “diamond in the rough” and downtown West
Newton is ripe for new business ventures.
