Community Partners

Meyersdale Renaissance
also administers the community’s Main Street program, serving as a resource to local businesses and investors and promoting downtown Meyersdale through special events and regional marketing efforts. Meyersdale Renaissance is leading a comprehensive community revitalization program that includes an extensive streetscape project that that will improve sidewalks, signs, parking, landscaping, bicycle accommodations, and streetlights throughout the downtown. The Meyersdale Area Historical Society is responsible for the restoration of the Western Maryland Railway Station at the Meyersdale trailhead along the Great Allegheny Passage. The beautifully restored station serves as a welcome center, complete with local merchandise, memorabilia, and artifacts.

The Somerset County Rails-to-Trails Association (SCRTA) has been instrumental in completing the trail in Somerset County and structures such as the Big Savage Tunnel, Salisbury and Keystone viaducts, and most recently the Bollman Bridge. SCRTA’s work to complete the trail was pivotal in Meyersdale’s ability to access the trail market.
